Benefits of Membership

Benefits of Membership

As well as providing you with essential training and an extensive network of professionals who can support every area of your business, Institute membership demonstrates to potential clients that you possess a recognised level of industry awareness and knowledge. This will play a key part in establishing a trustworthy brand and will encourage consumers to choose your services over those of a competitor.

Exclusive benefits include:

Trust

Membership of the IPW/ISPW entitles you to use the IPW or ISPW member logo as well as CTSI Approved Codes logo. By placing this on your website and marketing material, consumers can be assured that they can trust your service.

Consistency

Each year you will receive an updated Practising Certificate and membership identity card.

Inclusivity
As a democratic organisation, the Institute is owned and run by its members. Being a part of the organisation ensures that your voice will be heard.

Recognition
In addition to being identified as professional and highly-qualified, Institute Willwriters are recognised as operating to the highest standards.

Reliability
Our Code of Practice is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, highlighting the trust in Institute members.

Development
Members enjoy access to introductory and examination level training courses for both existing Willwriters and new entrants to the profession. This is provided through our wholly owned training company, the Willwriting Academy Ltd. The Academy also provides Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the form of courses and seminars in order to help individuals develop their skills and remain up to-date with changes in the law. Most courses have CPD accreditation from the CPD Standards Office.

Support
Our insurers provide Institute members with professional indemnity and public liability insurance, offering extensive cover. As premium rates are minimal, many Institute members save more in insurance premiums than they spend on their membership fees.

Education

We provide training courses and books from recognised legal sources at a discounted rate. We have our own Willwriting Academy which is recognised by the CPD Standards Office.

Connection with members:
We keep you up-to-date and in touch by sending you (via e-mail) newsletters which are published usually 2-weekly, plus you can be sent the ‘Journal’ which is published twice or three times a year. The Bi-weekly newsletter provides news, technical tips and things you need to know. The Journal provides a wider range of information.’
