Meet the Trainers

Paul Hutchinson

Founder & Director | Legal & Estate Planning Specialist

Paul Hutchinson is the Founder and Director of Hutchinson Legal & Associates and an experienced practitioner in wills, estate planning, and legal services.

He holds an LLB (Hons), LLM in International Business Law, and a Ph.D in Law. His career includes roles with Legal Budgets Ltd, the RAC Personal Injury Practice, and Lyons Davidson Solicitors before establishing his firm in 2004.

Paul is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Willwriters, a Fellow of the Institute of Paralegals, an Affiliate member of STEP, and was admitted to the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (ACILEX) in 2024. He is also a student member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

He has contributed to the profession through his work with the Legal Services Board on the regulation of wills and estate administration, and regularly writes and speaks within the industry.

Paul was awarded Will Writer of the Year in 2014 and published in the Legal Parliamentary Review in 2018. He is also a fluent French speaker with working knowledge of German and Italian.

Peter Burton

Training & Compliance Manager | Estate Planning Specialist

Peter Burton has nearly 30 years' experience within the legal services sector, specialising in estate planning.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Willwriters and an affiliate member of STEP, holding the Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation. His career spans a wide range of roles across estate planning businesses.

Peter currently serves as Training and Compliance Manager and is also Managing Director of Castle Training and Consultancy. He contributes to the Technical and Examiners team at the Institute of Professional Willwriters.

He is recognised for his ability to explain complex legal concepts – particularly trusts – in a clear, structured, and practical way.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys running and spending time with his family – often combining the two.
