ADVANCED TRUSTS

This course is intended for those more experienced members who want to build on the basic skills they learnt on the Introduction to Trusts course or for those who want to bring their knowledge up to date.

Learn the tips and tricks of more advanced trust drafting and spend more in-depth time learning about the three main types of trusts that clients’ needs dictate.

Using case studies, this course will cover advising on, considerations for, effects of and clause selection for Discretionary, Life Interests and Flexible Life Interest Trusts (FLITs) to ensure the client’s needs are meet and the Will and the trust administration is effective.

Delegates shoud passed the IPW entrance exam, or an equivalent exam accepted by the IPW and also have attended the IPW courses in respect of Lasting Powers of Attorney, Advising the Elderly (or an equivalent course accepted by IPW), Introduction to Trusts and Introduction to Estate Taxation.

2 years willwriting experience is also required.

Institute Entrance Examination

An opportunity to sit the Institute's entrance examination either at 9.30am or at 1.30am.

The cost of the examination is £110.  However Student Members of the Institute can sit the examination free of charge once in their membership year.
