Course Description:

This course is designed for those more experienced practitioners with at least 2 years experience in drafting Wills and will assist in the drafting of more complex Wills and advising clients with more complex estates.

Full Course Details:

Learn the tips and tricks of advanced Will drafting.  Will drafting is a very different skill set to instruction taking. Although taking instructions and applying technical knowledge are skills in their own right, both can be easily undone by a failure to then translate those instructions into a valid, elegant and, of course executed, Will.

On this course you will learn some of the pitfalls, tricks and traps of will drafting, including common clerical errors which affect the ability to efficiently obtain the Grant of Representation as well as effective clause selection to enable the smooth administration of the estate.

- Aims of the Will and the Draftsman

-  Considerations when eliciting information and transposing the instructions

- Getting the Will through Probate –what does the Probate Registry look for?

- Effective clause selection- use of precedents

Associates Course & Examination
Course Description:

A one day course for people who want to take Will instructions on behalf of an existing member of the Institute.

Holiday Inn, Castle Marina Park, Nottingham NG7 1GX
Full Course Details:

The course consolidates knowledge and training which is already expected to have been provided by the existing member and prepares candidates for the examination procedure.

Candidates are expected to have read and have a thorough understanding of the course book 'A Basic Guide to Taking Will Instructions'

The cost of the course is £110.00 which includes the course book, examination fee and lunch and refreshments.
